How does Viaddress calculate the Billable Weight?
We follow the international standard to determine the Billable Weight of a shipment. All international shipping carriers base their shipping rates on the Billable Weight, which is the greater of Actual Weight and Dimensional Weight. Actual Weight is the weight of the package when put on a scale. Dimensional Weight is based on the size of the package. Large items that have a small Actual Weight, like pillows and lamp shades, will have a larger Dimensional Weight.

Why is Viaddress located in the state of Indiana and not in a major state like California, New York, Texas or Florida?
There are two major advantages of having a physical address in the state of Indiana in oppose to California, New York, Texas or Florida:
- A) Most of big merchants such as Dell, New Egg, Amazon, BHphoto charge sales tax to California, New York, Texas or Florida, but not to Indiana, therefore you can save a substantial amount on your orders when you ship to our Indiana warehouse.
For example:
If you ship a $1000 order from Newegg.com or Dell.com to an address in California, Newegg & Dell will add $82.50 (CA tax 8.25%) to the $1000.
- B) Viaddress is located within a couple of hours from the Main US Fedex International hubs, which are in Indiana & Tennessee. This means that your shipments get on the international flight to your country within a couple of hours instead of spending an extra day going from California, New York, Texas or Florida to Indiana before getting on the International flight

How long can I store my items at my suite with Viaddress?
Viaddress can store each package free of charge for a period of 90 days from the date of delivery. The maximum storage time for each package is 90 days since the date of its delivery to your suite.
I want to buy items from U.S. websites but they won't ship to my international address. Can Viaddress.com allow me to access these deals?
With your own US address from Viaddress.com, you will be able to buy goods far cheaper than otherwise possible. Most of US merchants will not ship to international addresses, but now you can! Ship the goods to your established address with us and we will then consolidate all your packages and ship them to you outside the U.S.
Some merchants require a credit card with a US billing address. I don’t have one, what can I do?
There are several things you can do:
- A) Use our Free Concierge Service: Let us buy your items for you at NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE !
. After you register, Simply log into your Viaddress account and click on "Free Concierge order" button (Purple button), then complete the order form and payment on Paypal.
. We will order the item(s) for you, FREE OF CHARGE & provide your with (Order placement / Shipping / Delivery) confirmations.
. Once the item(s) arrives at your suite with Viaddress, you can choose to forward it to you or combine with other items before forwarding it.
- B) You may try to get a Debit Card with your US address with Viaddress as the billing address.
- C) Contact your credit card issuer and request that a secondary address be added to your card. Use your Viaddress.com address as your secondary address. Most credit card companies will allow this.
Do you accept certified mail, registered mail, and COD shipments?
Yes, we do accept certified mail, registered mail at NO additional charge; we simply must have your explicit confirmation before receiving such shipments. We do not accept COD shipments.
Do I need to submit USPS Form 1583 ?
WE DO NOT NEED THIS FORM IF YOU'RE SHIPPING VIA FEDEX, UPS, DHL FROM THE VENDOR.
We only need this form to receive packages shipped from vendors via USPS. Again, we do NOT need this form to receive packages from vendors who ship via FEDEX, UPS, DHL or any other carrier. Most of the time, you can select the shipping carrier at the checkout process from the Vendor's website. Select any other carrier than USPS, and you will not need to provide us with this form
Due to USPS regulations, all new customers must complete USPS Form 1583 in order to receive shipments from USPS. Viaddress may not accept mail from USPS until we receive Form 1583, authorizing Viaddress to accept mail on your behalf. This is a one time requirement by the USA government and we can’t waive it.

What if I can't access the internet? Can you still offer service to my area?
Yes. You can still have your mail and packages forwarded, but it will have to be on a fixed schedule. Simply sign up for our automatic forwarding option and we will send your packages and mail on a prearranged schedule.
How will you send my package and how much time will it take?
We ship with Fedex, UPS, DHL, and USPS*, four of the largest and most secure shipping companies. This allows us to choose among the four and offer you the best shipping rates available to your country. (*) USPS is offered to Canada, Russia, Brazil and Turkey only.
We also give you the choice to choose the shipping method to ship your packages from our warehouse to you.
Which countries do you ship to?
For a list of countries we serve, view the registration form. Please take the time to click on the country of your choosing, as not all shipping options are available in all countries. If a country is not listed on our website, we do not offer service.
Do you offer shipping services within the United States?
Yes. We will offer our address to anyone in the United States. We have many customers that ship through us within the United States in order to create a US business presence and receive an Elkhart, Indiana postmark on their outgoing mail and packages.

No deposit is required. The package will be shipped to you from us once we have received the paypal payment for shipping fees, enabling us not to require any initial deposit.
